Official Rules for The Ghost City Treasure Hunt

Sponsor: The Author (“Sponsor”).

Eligibility:

This contest is open only to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees, officers, directors, and agents of Sponsor, Penguin Random House, Berkley, Instagram, Facebook, Meta, or their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and immediate family members (spouse, parents, siblings, children, and their respective spouses) or those living in the same household are not eligible to enter or win. Void where prohibited by law.

Entry Period:

The contest begins on publication day of THE GHOST CITY (June 30, 2026) and ends on August 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST (“Entry Period”). All entries must be received by the end of the Entry Period.

How to Enter:

To enter, follow the contest requirements and submit an entry on the submission form, found within the hidden passage link on ryanpote.com. Submit during the Entry Period with the subject line and include your full name and email. Each person may enter only once. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified. Use of automated or robotic entry methods is prohibited. Entries must be sent from a valid email address.

Winner Selection:

One (1) winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries received during the Entry Period. The random drawing will be conducted on or about September 1, 2026. The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.

Winner Notification:

The potential winner will be notified via email and announced on Sponsor’s Instagram and Facebook pages on or about September 1, 2026. The potential winner must respond to the notification email by September 5, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST. If the potential winner does not respond by this deadline, if the notification is undeliverable, or if the potential winner is found to be ineligible or in violation of these rules, that winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be selected from the remaining eligible entries.

Prize is non-transferable and cannot be substituted, transferred, or redeemed for cash except by Sponsor in its sole discretion. All federal, state, and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.
